Evening Classicists!
This evening we covered the following (and enjoyed a viewing of "Troy"):
I. We'll have t-shirt order forms ready by the next meeting-- we've decided on red shirts with white text, "Wisconsin Classics" on the front with the university seal on the back. Both short- and long-sleeve shirts will be ordered, at $10 and $12 respectively.
II. Joe the Odyssey Singer will perform on either the 17th or 24th of February next semester, pending on other Classics department events.
We've gotten word back from Professor Rudall from U-Chicago, and he would be glad to come and give a lecture; the subject will likely be on poetry and/or drama. We're looking at late March or early April for this event.
III. Our next meeting, Tuesday Novemebr 9th, will be postponed a half an hour due to the Certificate Showcase, which is taking place in Chadbourne Hall, from 5:30 to 6:30.
IV. Our next (unofficial) event is symposium at my house: 307 E Gorham, on November 5th at 8:00. You can take the 81 or other buses from campus to get there. Come enjoy an evening with fellow Classicists. Wear your toga.

The movie "Troy" was really an epic. I'm hoping to see a remake of the movie after 10 years or more. It would really be a great feat for the future generation.
I can't help but get mad with Paris. Oh well, it happens to a lot of people anyway. I wonder if some producer will attempt to make a remake of Troy? That would be something to look upon to.
Our kids would never see such epic movie if producers would not come up with a remake of Troy.
The movie came out really big with the contributions of every single actor of their respective roles. Then again, it can't be denied that the story itself is just as big and worth learning.
I like the plot of the old version but the entire action/drama of the remake was just overwhelming. A very good story indeed and very much worth watching.
I bet the oldies of the meeting would rather prefer to have the classic version of the movie where the screen was still black and white. Well, the drama back then was just something worth noticing.
It's quite interesting to think how are the future directors and producers of this epic movie going to come up with a remake of it. And will the generation of such time to come be astounded just like the past movie fanatics?
People will surely be awed should producers decide for a remake of Troy. Any actor will no doubt feel honored to be part of the casts.
Do you guys wonder who will be the next to perform as Achilles in the next remake of troy? Well, it sure is hard to guess unless maybe somebody will appear to look exactly the same as Pitt does.
I don't think there should be a remake of Troy. Well maybe not until in the next two decades or so perhaps. Producers should come up with something that will not cause any disappointment from the fanatics.
Watching a classic movie in a meeting? Now, that is something really a new approach.
I have a feeling the next movie all of you are going to watch is Olympus of Clash of The Titans. Greek mythology stories are just as entertaining.
